🏠 I Want to Move Out. How Do I Submit My Notice, and What Is Required?

Updated over a month ago

If you're planning to move out, follow these steps to officially submit your notice and ensure a smooth transition.

πŸ“Œ How to Submit Your Notice

βœ” 1. Log into Your Coloc Dashboard

  • Navigate to the "Current Contract" section.

  • Click on "Submit Notice" to start the process.

βœ” 2. Respect the 2-Month Notice Period

  • Your notice must be submitted at least two months in advance.

  • The notice period starts on the 1st of the following month.

  • Example: If you submit your notice on March 15, your notice period will begin on April 1 and end on May 31.

βœ” 3. Publish Your Bedroom

  • You can choose to list your bedroom on the website before your notice period ends.

  • This helps find a replacement sooner and allows for a potential earlier move-out.

βœ” 4. Find a Replacement (Required in First Month)

  • You must actively search for a new tenant by posting your bedroom on rental websites, social media, and organizing visits.

  • If you haven't found a replacement within the first month, Coloc Housing will assist in the search.

βœ” 5. Approval Process

  • The new tenant must be approved by the housemates and Coloc Housing.

  • They must sign the contract and pay the deposit before your departure.

πŸ”„ Bedroom Swaps

  • If a current roomie wants to take your bedroom, the same process applies.

  • The price may change, and the roommates must vote on the swap.
