📌 What is the process for refunding my deposit, and what happens if there are deductions?

Updated over a month ago

🔄 Deposit Refund Process

1️⃣ Move-Out Inspection: A detailed inspection takes place after you leave.

2️⃣ Review of Potential Deductions: Any damages beyond normal wear and tear, unpaid rent, or extra cleaning costs may be deducted.

3️⃣ Repair & Maintenance Fees (if applicable): If damage is found, necessary repairs will be deducted from the deposit.

4️⃣ Final Calculation & Refund: The remaining deposit amount is calculated and transferred to your account within three weeks.

❗ What Could Lead to Deductions?

💡 Unpaid Rent or Fees – If you haven’t fully paid rent, your deposit may be used to cover the outstanding balance.

🛠 Damages Beyond Normal Wear – Any damages that go beyond regular use may be deducted.

🧼 Extra Cleaning Costs – If the bedroom is left in poor condition, a cleaning fee may apply.

💡 How to Avoid Deductions?

✔️ Ensure rent and all fees are fully paid before moving out.

✔️ Return your bedroom in good condition – clean and free of damages.

✔️ Follow Coloc’s move-out checklist to avoid unexpected costs.
