Depending on the type of heating system installed in the house, there are several actions you could undertake yourself when your heating is not working.

Whenever the house has a heating pump airco units, electrical heaters, a ticket should be made on the help center. For houses with a gas heating system, the tenants might be able to resolve certain issues themselves.

In houses with a gas heating system, radiators should be filled with water. The water inside is needed so that the radiator can heat properly. It often happens that air comes into the radiator. This is why it is important to bleed the radiators frequently in the whole house.

How to bleed the radiators:
1. Turn off the central heating in the house;
2. Turn all radiator knobs in the house fully open;
3. Start bleeding the radiators from down to up. It's important to start with the bleeding of the radiators downstairs and finish upstairs;
4. Turn back on the central heating in the house;

To be able to bleed the radiator, you will need a special key. Most houses already have this key. If not, you are able to buy it in most DIY-stores. Here you can find an example key to bleed the radiators.
