💻 How to Advertise Your Room Online

A powerful intro 💪

Writing a good post starts with making a good first impression. Try and start with a catchy sentence like "Will you be our next roomie for our amazing cohousing in ... ?". This will help your post stand out.

Use bullet points ⏺️

Describe your bedroom (and the house) in simple terms. Emojis and bullet points help. Don't forget to mention the availability and rent !

  • Tip: think of describing your roomies 👯‍♀️ too ! The more detailed, the better. People join a house not only for the bedroom, but also for the people !

  • ⚠️Please note: because we are a Cohousing company, we are not allowed to use the word "room". Instead say "bedroom" or "spot".

Describe your dream applicant👯‍♀️

Describe who you are looking for: ask the remaining roomies what are their preferences. The most common ones are:

  • 🏳️‍🌈 Gender preferences

  • 👴Age range

  • 🤹Personality (social or more independent; active or more chill)

  • 🏠 Intended stay (Recommended long term!)

Mention it's for working professionals - Phd students are fine too, but not regular students.

Use good photos 📷

Include photos that make them want to join the house ✨

  • Group moments like dinners, barbecues, holidays, or festivals with your housemates !

  • Living spaces like the living room, bathroom, kitchen and garden

  • Recent photos of your (decorated) bedroom

Add a personal touch 💌

❤️ Finish with something personal and inviting like: "Think you'd be a good fit ? Send us a message or apply directly via Coloc (insert link to the house)".
