❗What is considered an emergency?

Updated today

If something is dangerous or life-threatening (fire, injury, break-in, strong gas smell), CALL 112, NOT COLOC.

When Should You Use the Emergency Line?

Please call the Emergency Contact Line only for the situations below.
If it’s not on this list, wait until working hours.

Incorrect use results in a €100 (incl VAT) charge❗

❌ Non-Coloc Emergencies: Fire, Gas, or Safety Risks

Fire or smoke:
Call 112.

Strong gas smell:
Call your regional operator immediately:

  • Brussels: 0800 19 400 (Sibelga)

  • Wallonia: 0800 87 087 (Ores)

  • Flanders: 0800 65 065 (Fluvius)
    Then call us.

Broken window or door that makes the house unsafe:

  • Break-in: Call the police (112) first, then call us.

  • Storm or natural-disaster damage: Try to prevent further damage, take pictures and videos, then call us.

✅ 1. Major Water Leak causing damage

Water pouring from ceilings or pipes, or flooding causing real damage → call us.
To prevent further damage, turn off the main water tap (usually in the basement).

✅ 2. Electrical Danger

Call us if you notice:

  • Sparks

  • Burning smell

  • Smoke

  • Or the entire house loses electricity while other houses on your street still have power, and turning on the fuses did not work.

For regular power outages, check the fusebox and follow the guide and electric shedule.

✅ 3. Completely Locked Out

Emergency: Everyone is locked outside the house, and the outside lock isn’t working.

Not an emergency: Locked out of your bedroom.

✅ 4. No Heating in Freezing Weather

Emergency only if the whole house has no heating and it’s freezing outside.
