If your heating isn’t working, the steps to fix it depend on the type of heating system in your house. Here’s what you can do before requesting professional help.
⚡If You Have a Heating Pump, Airco Unit, or Electrical Heater
Submit a ticket via the Coloc Housing Help Center. These systems require professional intervention.
🔥If You Have a Gas Heating System
Gas heating systems require water-filled radiators to function properly. Air buildup in the system can block proper heating, so bleeding the radiators might solve the issue.
💨How to Bleed Your Radiators
You’ll need a radiator key to bleed the radiators. Most houses have one, but you can buy one at any DIY store if needed.
Turn off the central heating in the house.
Open all radiator knobs fully throughout the house.
Start bleeding from the lowest floor, working your way up.
Turn the heating back on after finishing.
Watch this short video for a step-by-step guide on how to properly bleed a radiator.
🛠 If the Main Heater (Gas) Isn’t Working
1. Check the display on the heater (usually in the basement).
If the display is ON → There might be an error code. Take a picture of the error and submit a ticket through the Help Center.
If the display is OFF → The heater might need a reset.
2. Try Resetting the Heater
Locate the electricity board (usually in the basement).
If any fuses are down, switch them back up.
The display should turn back on, and the heater should restart.
If it doesn’t work, check this video (from 4’28”) for instructions on how to reset your heater.
🚨 If none of these steps work, submit a repair request via the Help Center.
